Amiad Filtration: What it does, how it works
An Amiad® SAF series filters hundreds of gallons per minute, completely automatically, year after year. Unlike conventional filters, it uses no filtration media and no storage tanks. Responsive to actual water conditions, it takes up little floor space and consumes less than 1/10th the water used by other automatic systems. For a typical large residential building, that means saving over one million gallons of water every year.
How's that possible?
Brilliant technology: Particles are collected against a 316L stainless steel screen, and automatically flushed out as frequently as needed based on continuous measurement of pressure differential and/or at pre-set time intervals. The entire captured particulate load is purged in under 30 seconds. Even during flush mode, the unit stays in service.
Amiad filtration is ideal for domestic water, storm water and HVAC systems in side stream or full flow application. It is an essential element when implementing environmentally sustainable water technologies, especially when seeking LEED certification.
Filtration screens are available at 10 – 200 microns. Coarser filtration permits higher flow rates. (The most commonly specified screen provides greater than 98% removal of particles larger than 10µ.) Every Amiad system supplied is designed for its specific application and includes comprehensive factory and field support.
